Had
a great opportunity to shoot the top Chefs in Toronto
at the Veritas
Restaurant downtown. This was for the Sip
& Savour Ontario Event. Here are the results..

I
had shot these images last lear, but never really
got around to processing them. So last week, I kicked
myself in the butt and processed them.

Finally
set up my studio in the basement and got wondering...
what do I want to shoot first. It had to be food,
so I looked for something simple, yet challenging
to shoot. "Breakfast Cereals" came to mind
so after a quick shopping trip, I got down to business.
I'm still shooting as I upload these images so make
sure you come bac for more...

So
Kelly
writes to me and proposes the idea of a shoot titled
"The Road Trip". I love it and we place
a casting call. Buy, did we hit gold when we found
Amy
and Dialin
! Not 10 minutes had passed after these guys met for
the first time, and you'd have guessed they knew each
other for years. Dialin's sense of humor was brilliant
and the shoot was filled with antics and ample laughter.
We drove like crazy to find locations and thank God
for Kelly that we didn't get lost. Take a look...

I
was doing what I do best - Shooting Food !!! when
I got a call from Marty (the client) saying that his
stuff is top notch and puts the majority of the steak
joints to shame I was skeptical. After 2 days of shooting,
I stood firmly corrected. His stuff is absolutely
brilliant ! Kester was good enough to keep me sampling
portions of the stuff and I have 4 extra pounds around
my middle to prove it. And
if you want to buy this stuff directly, call Marty
Powell at 905-564-9691. So,
was it a good shoot? Click on the image below and
see for yourself :)

Watch
out for Ginnie
guys... She's headed for the big time. She's a singer
and an incredible one at that. We had been planning
a shoot for some time now and one fine day, we decided
to go ahead with the shoot. We had Ivy
Lam for the makeup and needless to say, she did
brilliantly. Did we enjoy ourselves? You bet we did!
Ginnie is one of the most comfortable people to be
with and I hope she does really well in her singing
career.

Had
a shoot with Sue
and her 2 wonderful kids in St. Catharines. Sue's
recommendation for the location worked out perfectly.
So, armed with shovels and buckets, super-soakers
and frisbees, we got down to the serious business
of having fun. These kids were incredible to shoot.
And the camera loved them. Sue was a natural and the
shots just flowed along smoothly. More images coming
soon...

Worked
with two wonderful people that I had never worked
with before... Lauren
and Adrienne.
What was planned a couple shoot quickly turned into
a single model shoot after the male model didn't show
up. So we had to improvise the theme and I'll say
that we did a damn good job of that. The weather was
unusually cold and although Lauren was freezing, it
doesn't show one bit in the shots. Talk about a real
pro !

Got
to shoot some fantastic Jamaican food today. Willy's
Jerk Restaurant wanted their menu items shot and along
with Kester Birch (food stylist), we got down to business.
The hardest part was figuring out what to snack on
after it had been shot. You see, one look at Kester's
array of food styling paints, blow-torches and oils,
I was pretty sure I'd land up in the hospital if I
picked up the wrong item to munch on :) Hats off to
the guy... he did an amazing job. And the best part
is that you can't tell which items have been given
a facelift and which ones are natural. Wanna try?

It's
baby season big time! Bhalla and Denise were blessed
with the most beautiful baby (Sophie) on the 23rd
of Feb and in two weeks, she decided she was ready
for the modelling world :) Yup, this kid is goin'
places !

Kuv
and Mon are the nicest guys one can have as friends...
and when they found out that they were going to have
a baby, Kuv wasted no time in making sure I'd be there
to take some nice shots. So we planned out a beer
& biryani party and settled comfortably into the
shoot. The biggest problem wasn't getting them to
laugh... the problem was to "stop" them
from laughing... Yeah, that's the kind of incredibly
vibrant guys these are. And Kuv's reaction after she
saw her shots... "Good Lord, I'm GORGEOUS !"
:)

Just
when my fingers were itching to do a lifestyle shoot,
Kelly
writes to me and sets up a winter theme shoot with
Madaline.
So we plan on a shoot at the Rouge (near Toronto Zoo).
Kelly's make up was fabulous as usual and Madaline's
sense of humor kept the whole shoot really lively
and fun. Its always fun to shoot with someone who
knows what her good angles are... and Madaline knows
every single one. Take a look...

My
first shoot after officially turning 38 :) Met up
with Ticha at her place and found out that she had
lost her voice the day before. The good news was that
she looked great. She has one of those faces that
the camera instantly likes. So with some excellent
jazz music playing in the background, we were ready
to shoot. June helped out a lot with the reflector
and as a reward, got a great shot for herself ;) Did
I mention that she forgot my birthday? But seriously,
Ticha did an incredible job, considering it was her
first photoshoot. I've just processed 4 shots and
there are several more to come. So check back often.

James,
Barbie and Kelly on a farm.... Not much else needed
for a smokin' shoot ! We shot on Dave's farm and had
an absolute blast. Everyone hit off like crazy. Barbie
happened to get a lot of attention from a rather unexpected
audience... But you'll have to click the image below
to see why :-)
More shots are on their way, but here's a sneak preview
of the shoot.

Found
a good friend in James when I shot with him in downtown
Toronto. A solid down-to-earth chap who clearly headed
to make it big. He can deliver the classic rugged
looks to the boy next door in a flash. But don't take
my word for it... ask the women at Starbucks at Bay
& Queen where we were shooting :-) All in all,
a great shoot.

I'm
going to go out on a limb here and announce a very
strong candidate for Canada's Next Top Model - Shurelle.
She's incredibly gorgeous, the camera loves her, and
she is simply one of the finest people to meet and
have as a friend. Here are the results from the shoot...

Had
a real fun shoot with Amy today. Sydney was the MUA
and these guys are the most "alive" guys
I've worked with in a long time. It was so much fun.

Sandbanks!!!
Beaches and sand dunes galore. This was an event organized
by Derek Cooper and had 15 photographers and 9 models.
Drove 325 kms each way to get there, got lost going IN
and OUT, but had a blast once I was there. I shot with
the beautiful Sabine and the results are here to see.

You're
never prepared for an outdoor shoot that turns into an
indoor shoot - equipment-wise... One just feels "mis-equipped";
No tripod, no strobes, just a reflector to work things
out with. But that's what happened when I shot with Jayni
(model) and Kelly (MUA)
last night. And what I saw was the sheer brilliance of
these
two girls that led to an amazing shoot. Here are a few
shots from the shoot.

This
had to be one of the most fun shoots ever... The model
was the fabulous Linda and
the makeup was being done by one of my favorite people
- Kelly
McBrearty. Clearly, I was in very good company!
The theme was "Retro
Rollerblading" and Linda's natural rollerblading
style attracted a lot of appreciative looks. Yes, I'm
fairly sure it was the rollerblades !!!

Had
a ton of fun today at this shoot. Was shooting with Mike,
Arthur (photographers), Kelly (MUA) and Christa, Sheila
Aidan and Angelika (models). I did a "Banjaran" theme
(nomadic people of north India) with Sheila that turned
out beautifully (hats off to Kelly for the makeup). Here's
a preview.... and more shots will follow. So stay tuned...
